Week 1 · Weekly Bulletin no. 1
Initiation to SHS
I'll prepare a weekly bulletin for each class — a round-up of my thoughts, with a link to the homework and exercises at the bottom.
Suggestion: keep a dedicated erotic journal
I'd love for all of us to have one for this journey.
"For any traveller who wishes to record and remember his experience fully, a diary is an invaluable travelling companion. Let yours be a beautiful book, bound in attractive sensual colours and materials, in which you can record observations and describe the expanded perceptions you may experience during your training."
Margot Anand
One way to start: draw a vertical line down the page. At the top left, write "What do I want to change in my love life and my sexuality?" and list each aspect underneath that needs transformation. As you go through this course, use the right side to note down which exercises and practices address each issue and support your desire for transformation.
How you design it is up to you — I'm not going to be checking it ;) Some weeks will include written exercises too.
Messages I want to impart
I want to set the record straight on my intentions. SHS wasn't created just to exchange quick, dirty tips on how to be a better kisser or give a great blow job (although there's NOTHING wrong with that, haha) — that might be a by-product, but it's not the deeper impact I'm going for. Here are three things I feel devoted to, and the messages behind them:
1. The truth is in the body, not technique
We live in a "Top 5 Tips" world, full of fun, entertaining videos and information that holds our attention. But the truth is quieter, slower, more personal — and so much more interesting. And it lives exclusively inside you.
"When you notice something unexpected inside yourself and you want to look outward to check if it's normal, if you're okay, remember: YOU ARE OKAY. When you look up, see yourself. Trust your body. Listen to the small, quiet voice inside you that says 'Yes! More!' or 'No! Stop!' Listen — especially when that voice is saying both at once. When that happens, be compassionate with yourself. Go slow. When you look 'out there,' you'll find inspiration and entertainment and amazing science and support. But you won't find the truth of your own sexual wellbeing — what YOU want, what YOU like, what YOU need. To find that, look inside."
Emily Nagoski
Over the coming weeks, I'll share how I personally navigate this — turning inward to my breath, movement, sound, imagination, sensations, listening to what drives me wild and what slams the brakes on. No technique. My body does the talking. To me, a large part of this is becoming more "embodied" and less stuck in the mind. People often follow a blog, a class, a book, hoping to find the secret ingredient — the hidden, all-powerful something. There isn't one. It's just you.
2. The ripple effect
Feeling empowered in our sexuality has knock-on effects in every other part of life. It's true — notice how you show up at work, and which parts of your life you don't currently feel confident in, and see if that shifts. Your relationship with pleasure ripples into every relationship in your life: work, family, friends, lovers.
3. You are normal. It's only your shame
In fact, you're not just normal — you're amazing. Your body is beautiful, and your desires are perfect. Fantasising about someone else during sex is normal. Your genitals look normal (I'd genuinely invite you to get up close with a mirror and get curious — so few of us do). Your libido level is normal; it doesn't have to match your partner's. Heavy, loud breathing during sex — normal, and honestly helpful.
So many of our "problems" in sex come from shame. But don't shame the shame — hold it lovingly, like an inner child, because after all, it was only ever trying to protect you. Welcome all the weird and wonderful parts of yourself in sex. The antidote to shame is exposure — a huge part of why I'm creating this community, so we can feel safe to share and own our sexuality. Unleashing your full, unashamed sexual self is just fucking magical.
Conclusion
"We live in a society that is hyper-sexualized and woefully under-informed."
We're lucky to be drawing on the collective wisdom and stories of 20 incredibly open-minded humans — yes, that's you. I don't come to you as the sex guru, but as a fellow sex learner (okay, a very, very enthusiastic one). So please feel free to challenge me — I welcome it! If you have anything you want to share with the group during these 10 weeks — a question, some reading, an audio piece — send it my way, and I'll happily weave it into the syllabus. Think of this as a co-creation.
Looking forward to the juicy shares, intimacy and insights to come. xx

P.S. Our homework will be posted at the bottom of each weekly bulletin.
P.P.S. Think of the homework as theory, and the live sessions as the chance to put it into practice, apply it to yourself, and discuss what's true for you.

Semana 1 · Boletín semanal n.º 1
Iniciación a SHS
No existe. Eres solo tú.
3. Eres normal.
